Investigate of Tooth Decay and Its Relationship With Knowledge, Attitude and Performance (Kap) in High School Students in Islamabad-E-Gharb City

Background and Aim Oral dental health plays an important role in people's general is affected by various factors such as knowledge attitude of a person regarding oral health. Improving Knowledge this regard will lead to more attention towards therefore, the present study was conducted determine rate tooth decay its relationship with knowledge, performance high school students Islamabad-e-Gharb city. Methods & Materials This cross-sectional among 348 Islamabad-e-Gharb. Which were selected through sampling two stages, cluster random. Data collected using clinical examination standard questionnaire analyzed descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one-way analysis variance, Sheffe post hoc test Spearman's correlation coefficient at significance level less than 0.05 SPSS software, version 22. Ethical Considerations approved Ethics Committee Kermanshah University Medical Sciences (Code: IR.KUMS.REC.1397.548). Results The Mean Decay-Missing-Filled Teeth (DMFT) index 6.07±3.47 teeth decayed 5.31± 2.90 respectively 96.3 percent had carries. Both DMFT (r=-0.124, P=0.021) (r=-131, P=0.015) significant students' There no difference between number (P<0.05). No found either (P=0.749) (P=0.614) gender. Conclusion In study, relatively shows need design educational interventions adolescents prevent decay.
